Ganapati Pooja

Ganapati Pooja is one of the most commonly performed domestic rituals, as Lord Ganesha is revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of new beginnings. Traditionally, the pooja is performed before starting any new venture—be it a business, home ceremony, or festival. The ritual begins by invoking Ganesha with mantras like “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah” and offering modaks, durva grass, red flowers, and sandalwood paste.

This pooja can be elaborate or simple, depending on the occasion. On a daily or weekly basis (especially on Tuesdays or Chaturthi), families may perform a brief ritual involving the lighting of a lamp, chanting of Ganapati Atharvashirsha, and offering sweets. During Ganesh Chaturthi, the festival is celebrated with grandeur, including idol installation and community participation.

Ganapati Pooja brings mental clarity, removes negativity, and opens the path to success and prosperity. Spiritually, it is believed to awaken the muladhara (root) chakra, which Ganesha governs. The ritual enhances focus and concentration, making it a favorite pooja for students and professionals alike.
