Kubera Pooja

Kubera Pooja is dedicated to Lord Kubera, the divine treasurer of the gods and the guardian of wealth. He is often worshipped alongside Goddess Lakshmi, especially during Diwali, Dhanteras, or any financial new beginning. Kubera is symbolized as a pot-bellied, prosperous deity seated with a money bag, holding a mace and fruit, representing abundance and sustenance.

In the ritual, devotees offer fragrant flowers, incense, betel leaves, and a variety of sweets. Mantras such as the Kubera Ashtottara and “Om Yaksha Rajaya Vidmahe…” are chanted to invoke his blessings. A special puja thali with coins, rice, turmeric, and kumkum is often prepared during the ritual.

Kubera Pooja enhances financial discipline, attracts unexpected income, and protects wealth from loss or misuse. It encourages a mindset of abundance, not just in material terms but also in generosity, gratitude, and dharmic use of wealth. When combined with Lakshmi Pooja, it becomes a powerful practice for sustainable prosperity.
