Raksha Bandhan Ritual

Raksha Bandhan is a beloved ritual symbolizing the sacred bond between a brother and sister. On this day, the sister ties a rakhi (sacred thread) on her brother’s wrist, praying for his well-being, protection, and success. In return, the brother offers a gift and vows to protect and support her throughout life. Though simple, the ritual has deep emotional and cultural significance.

The ceremony usually starts with the sister performing an aarti for the brother, applying tilak on his forehead, and tying the rakhi while chanting a short prayer. The rakhi symbolizes love, loyalty, and the spiritual connection between siblings. The ritual can also be adapted to include cousins, close friends, and even soldiers and gurus—reflecting its universal message of protection and gratitude.
