Govardhan Pooja

Govardhan Pooja is celebrated the day after Diwali, commemorating Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect villagers from torrential rain. Devotees create a miniature hill made of cow dung or mud and decorate it with flowers, cereals, and lamps. Special foods are prepared and offered to Krishna in gratitude for his protection.
