Lakshmi Pooja

Lakshmi Pooja is performed to invite the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of wealth, fortune, and beauty. The ritual is especially significant on Fridays and during Diwali, when homes are cleaned, decorated, and illuminated with lamps to welcome the goddess. Offerings include lotus flowers, coins, milk, sweets, and kumkum.

The pooja generally begins with a Ganapati invocation followed by the chanting of Lakshmi Ashtottaram or Lakshmi Sahasranamam. Devotees light oil lamps, offer turmeric, rice, and prasad, and pray for financial stability, abundance, and well-being. Performing Lakshmi Pooja with devotion is believed to remove financial blocks and attract prosperity into the household.
