Ram Navami Pooja

Ram Navami commemorates the birth of Lord Rama, the ideal king and the seventh avatar of Vishnu. The pooja is performed on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri. Devotees clean their homes and altars, place a picture or idol of baby Ram in a cradle, and perform rituals with bhajans, flowers, incense, and aarti.

Special readings from the Ramayana, particularly the “Bal Kand” or childhood episodes, are recited. In temples, grand processions of Lord Rama’s idol are carried out, and people observe fasting until noon, the supposed birth time. Offerings include kheer, fruits, and tulsi leaves, which are considered sacred to Ram.

Ram Navami Pooja is a spiritual reminder of dharma (righteous conduct), truth, and devotion. Worshipping Ram is said to instill strength of character, humility, and a sense of duty. The day inspires families to imbibe the virtues of love, discipline, and ethical living in their daily lives.
